The highlight of her tenure was the visit of Pope John Paul II to Sacred Heart Cathedral and Giants Stadium in 1995.
“That was a thrill for me to work on his visit. The moment he walked into the cathedral was beyond my wildest imagination,” she recalled.
“He taught me so much about life and our faith,” she said. “Even in his final days, he offered his suffering for the priests of the archdiocese.” “I thought I would become a Little Sister of the Poor so working for the church interested me very much,” she said. Before Monsignor Michael Andreano became pastor of Ss. Peter & Paul, Hoboken, he was Myers’ third and final priest secretary, then Chancellor and a Vicar General. Biasi-Vazquez worked closely with him and they are good friends.
