KNOWN the world over as April Fool's Day, in Scotland the pranksters celebration is traditionally known as"Hunt the Gowk Day".The traditional April 1 celebrations originate from medieval times. Some historians argue that following the move of the Julian calendar - which celebrated New Year in Spring at the equinox - to the Gregorian calendar used today, people were late to get the news and continued to celebrate New Year on April 1.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
