The UK government will be increasing the annual TV licence fee from next month - here's everything you need to know about the price hike.
Anybody in the UK who watches live TV, records shows or streams content on BBC iPlayer has been reminded that the price of a TV licence will increase next month.
The price rise was announced by the Secretary of State in December last year, who advised that the 6.6 percent increase would be in line with inflation. If the TV Licensing company suspects that you're breaking the rules and watching content without paying the fee, they may visit your home to check. And if you're caught out, you could face a fine of up to £1,000, or £2,000 in Guernsey.
For people who own black and white televisions, the price will be lower at £57 per year compared to the £53.50 it costs right now.
