Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says temperatures will climb near the 1947 record of 90 degrees.
Friday is still warm with temperatures in the mid-80s inland and staying in the 70s at the beaches as winds begin to turn onshore.
That onshore flow will only increase through the weekend. Saturday brings afternoon and evening showers and storms. Temperatures will be lower but humidity will not allow it to feel ‘cool’.Temperatures dive on Sunday as we won’t even get out of the 60s. Winds will be strongest on Sunday with rough seas and surf, coastal flooding at times of high tide, and possible beach erosion.
There will also be a dangerous rip current risk, so the best safety advice is to stay out of the water. The onshore winds will continue into early next week. Temperatures on Monday will be in the low 70s with a few showers and times.This is the warmest morning of the week .
