The former tennis star lost her husband earlier this year after 36 years of marriage
Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft has opened up about her husband's final hours and recalled how one nurse's words have "haunted" her since.
Annabel - who is currently taking part in this year’s BBC Strictly Come Dancing with Johannes Radebe - said she didn’t realise at the time that her beloved other half “wouldn’t be coming home”. The Mirror reported Annabel gathered in the hospital with children Amber, Lily and Charlie and their partners when the nurse started talking about death in front of Mel.
The Daily Record reported things were made even worse when the nurse went on to discuss what would happen if Mel had a heart attack and revealed they would place a do-not-resuscitate order on him. Annabel said: "Mel actually perked up.
