But if you’re really at a loss, rather than picking something on the fly, go for a charitable donation. The very worst gifts, Wintour proclaims, are the least thoughtful ones.
Still, it’s perfectly possible to re-gift without falling into that trap, as long as you’re transparent about it. As Wintour sagely suggests, “Just say, ‘Somebody sent this to me, and I thought that it was perfect for you.’” There you have it—holiday shopping made easy.
