A protester stormed the stage during the leader's speech
Andy Burnham said Keir Starmer "handled himself really well" after a protester stormed the stage during the leader's speech at the Labour conference.
After the speech, he told the ECHO: "I don't know who that was. Remember Theresa May in Manchester ... these things are hard to stop at a party conference. Reacting to the speech, Mr Burnham said: "It felt to me like he'd written it himself which is always a good start when you've given a speech because it seemed like it came from the heart. He gave a very personal speech and I think it will have cut through because he spoke directly to the sense of a broken country going backwards with lots of injustice and unfairness around.
