Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers was extremely productive against Kansas last week. Can he repeat that performance against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Ewers’ first pass of the day came on a quick play-action pass over the middle to AD Mitchell. He followed that up with a 14-yard pass to Mitchell again. Ewers’ hot start continued, hitting Mitchell a third time in a row for a gain of 18.
He followed that up with a 17-yard completion to a wide open Xavier Worthy to the outside. His first incompletion came on the next pass when he threw the ball a little high for Mitchell. After a Kansas touchdown, the next drive saw a big 26-yard pass from Ewers to Johntay Cook, and another 14-yard pickup to Mitchell, but the Longhorns would ultimately come up empty when kicker Bert Auburn missed a field goal.
