Instead, they prefer a guy who's not in politics anymore.

Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump speaks at a campaign event Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Detroit. ranking the popularity among Republican politicians in and formerly in government showed that Trump ranked fourth with 43% of support from adults among Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millennials combined.

The former president ranked third among Baby Boomers, fifth among Gen X, and sixth among Millennials. Among adults overall, Trump is behind former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson, at 44%, and former President George W. Bush at 47%. In the fifth spot behind Trump is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin at 41%.At the top of the list is actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who got 55% of the popularity vote among adults overall and won each generation demographic: 60% among Millennials and 50% among both Generation X and Baby Boomers.

Biden ranked 11th with 45%, followed by Trump in the 15th spot with a 43% popularity rating, according to the poll.in a separate YouGov poll, Carter reigned supreme again with 61%, followed by Obama at 59% and Sanders, an independent, at 52%. Biden ranked ninth and was preceded by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in eighth, Vice President Kamala Harris in seventh, former President Bill Clinton sixth, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.
