The ambulance driver was dismissed for gross misconduct following a hearing, with bosses saying he had “brought the service into disrepute” despite not viewing the CCTV. Top news stories today GMB figures show there have been 773 attacks, including 16 sexual assaults, recorded on staff since 2017. Last year alone, 160 assaults were recorded on SAS employees - a five year high.
