San Francisco Giants assistant coach Alyssa Nakken interviewed for the team's manager vacancy last week, and is believed to be the first woman to interview for an on-field managerial position in Major League Baseball, according to MLB.com.

Giants President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi confirmed on Sunday that Nakken has interviewed for the Giants' managerial vacancy and went through a first-round interview last week. She is believed to be the first woman to interview for an on-field managerial position in the Majors, according to MLB.com.
