The journalist had her passports confiscated in June and was fined for failing to register her US passport. She has been unable to leave Russia since.
A Russian-American journalist who was charged with failing to register as a foreign agent will be held in prison for six more weeks, a Russian court ruled. Alsu Kurmasheva, an editor at US government-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty , was detained last week. Her employer said the court ordered she remain in custody until 5 December, rejecting her lawyer's request for other measures than imprisonment.
