Down secure promotion to Division Two of the Allianz Football League by beating Clare 3-15 to 1-10 as Antrim preserve their Division Three status.
Down only led 1-7 to 1-4 at half-time but took control in the second half at Newry to seal promotion to Division Two
Throughout the first half in Newry, Down always seemed to be the stronger of the two teams but their lack of end product at times ensured it was close at half-time as they only led 1-7 to 1-4.Odhran Murdock rolled a penalty into the bottom corner, before the home side overturned the resulting kick out and worked it to Danny Magill, who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net to make it 3-10 to 1-5.
Paddy McBride's second-half points helped Antrim preserve their Division Three status as the defeated Wicklow at Corrigan Park Antrim led 1-7 to 0-6 at the half when Aghagallon's Ruairi McCann - making his first appearance in the League - rose high to finish at close range from Eunan Walsh's dropping ball in stoppage time.
