Is there a parkrun near you? All the courses in Greater Manchester and how to take part
Every Saturday morning, thousands of people lace up their running shoes and set out on parkrun routes across the country.
People are encouraged to join what's described by organisers as a "positive, welcoming and inclusive experience". There is no time limit, no one finishes 'last' and everyone is able to join, whether they run, jog, walk, spectate or volunteer. Each parkrun is three miles or five km long and runners - or walkers - or all paces and abilities are welcome to take part.
However, if you register on the parkrun website, you will be given an individual barcode. Take that along and your times will be recorded each time you do it and at whatever parkrun you go to across the UK or beyond.
