All the government payments coming this month including benefits, Household Support fund and free childcare
As the cost of living crisis ticks on, many families will still be in need of extra support. While some will receive benefits payments, others will receive other government support, such as help via the Household Support Fund. which has recently been extended to September.
Each council can then apply for a portion of the money to spend on families who really need extra support. This is part of the government’s rollout plan to eventually allow working parents of children aged nine months and older to receive 30 hours of free childcare.While you can no longer apply for the summer term, you can apply for funding to start in September. apply through the government’s Childcare Choices website here.3 Universal Credit payments to increase 5.5 million Universal Credit claimants will benefit from an increase in benefit payments from 6 April.
Speaking in his Spring Budget, Mr Hunt announced that the threshold will be increased to £60,000 to ensure fewer parents are hit by the charge.This change will officially come in on Saturday 6 April 2024. 8 Housing benefit increasing The Chancellor confirmed in his Autumn Statement, the Government will increase Local Housing Allowance for the first time in 3 years.LHA rates are usually set on 1 April each year and decided by the Department for Work and Pensions . They’re used to calculate how much financial support you can claim if you rent from a private landlord.
