For her return to the catwalk, Alessandra Rich went for the quintessentially Parisian restaurant Maxim’s, whose Belle Epoque dark red interiors , still have a flavor of. “I thought it was the perfect frame for my collection, as this is a place where people come to enjoy life, to have fun, and to play the seduction game,” said Rich in what was definitely the most voluptuous backstage of the season.
The collection was called Let’s Kiss, and to bring home the point, flame-red lipsticks in red little boxes were placed on each seat. Then the stage was left to an undulating flow of skimpy, sassy little numbers, impossibly short and tight, followed by a parade of midriff-baring crop tops variously paired with the lowest-rise flares in the business , or with sexy high-waisted bikini briefs, or miniskirts as indiscernible as a microchip.
A slightly more demure proposition was a series of floaty, sinuous slipdresses in floral chiffon which looked deceitfully romantic, as their sheerness didn’t leave much to the imagination. “It’s all about false innocence, she just pretends to be an ingénue,” said Rich of her inveterate seductress. “But she’s all about having fun being an actual
