The Santa Fe County district attorney filed paperwork on Monday that dropped a firearm enhancement charge against both the “30 Rock” star and the rookie armorer charged alongside him. Lawyers for Baldwin, 64, had earlier argued that the charge was “unconstitutional” because it was based on a New Mexico law passed after the deadly October 2021 shooting on the set of “Rust.”
Heather Brewer, a spokesperson for the district attorney, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the enhancement was removed “in order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys.”
