While other retailers have announced permanent store closings amid the coronavirus pandemic, Aldi plans to expand.
Aldi isn't the only retailer opening stores.
Teen and women's retailer rue21 announced Friday that it will open three new brick-and-mortar locations this month and said it has"experienced a business uptick since emerging from the Covid-19 shutdown." With the three new stores in South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, the company has 673 locations in 45 states.
“Unlike many retailers, we are in a better position today we were before the global pandemic," interim CEO John Fleming said in a release."We are energized to build off of this incredible momentum and provide our customers with a seamless, personalized, and safe shopping experience."
