Alcalde de Denver dará actualización sobre personas sin hogar y la llegada de migrantes a la ciudad

9NEWS transmitirá en vivo la conferencia de prensa del alcalde de Denver, Mike Johnston, programada para las 2 p.m. este jueves.

Por primera vez, Denver ofreció habitaciones de hotel a personas que viven en las calles antes de la redada de campamentos que estaba programada para el lunes.

La ciudad dijo que casi todos los que ofrecieron alojamiento en el campamento decidieron aceptarlo y mudarse al hotel. La ciudad tenía 70 cupos, aunque aún no está claro si hubo personas a las que se les negó la vivienda porque estaba llena. El objetivo de la declaración de emergencia es conseguir que 1.000 personas que actualmente se encuentran sin hogar en la calle puedan acceder a una vivienda antes de fin de año.
