May 12, 2023Alaskans are transitioning to summertime activities — and while that often means having a lot of fun, there’s also a whole different set of ways to get hurt.
Dr. Anne Zink is Alaska’s chief medical officer, but she’s also an emergency room physician. And Zink says she and others in Alaska’s ERs have already noticed an uptick with summer’s arrival.: Yeah, summers get busy. And in fact, my most recent set of shifts were like, “Oh, man, it’s summer. Here we go,” because people feel the sun, and they’re out and about. You know, there are a couple big categories. The first I would say is helmets.
