The new weekly nonstop flights begins May 18, 2024.
When tourists crowd San Diego's beaches, have you considered flying north for the summer? Now, there's another option. Alaska Airlines announced Friday it's adding a seasonal, nonstop flight between San Diego and Anchorage, Alaska, next summer. The seasonal service begins May 18, 2024, and ends on Aug. 17. Tickets are on sale now for the new weekly routes on Alaska's 737 airplanes.
That saves travelers some time compared to the seven to 10 hours it takes on flights with stops. The Saturday flights depart Anchorage at 2:50 p.m. and arrive in San Diego at 9:10 p.m. The flights depart San Diego at 9 a.m. and arrive in Anchorage at 1:45 p.m. In addition to adding seasonal nonstop flights to and from San Diego this summer, Alaska Airlines announced daily nonstop service between New York John F. Kennedy Airport and Anchorage.
