An 'alarming' increase in the number of frontline health workers seeking help for suicidal thoughts has been reported by a charity. MedTwitter WorldMentalHealthDay SuicidePrevention

The majority of the requests for assistance came from people aged between 18 and 37.The charity acknowledged that awareness campaigns about mental health might have contributed to the overall surge in the numbers coming forward for help.

Mr Barnes said he wanted the Prime Minister and the Health and Care Secretary to put mental health support for emergency workers "at the very top of their agenda". He said: "Sadly, the topic of mental health specifically for healthcare workers remains riddled with stigma. This simply has to end."
