The PNE captain is in the final year of his contract at Deepdale
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe remains confident that captain Alan Browne will extend his contract at Deepdale. The Lilywhites made an offer to the Ireland international towards the end of last year, but he is yet to sign on the dotted line. Browne, in September of last year, said he would be 'happy' to sign a new deal at Deepdale and he has since surpassed 400 appearances for the club. There was an approach from Serie A side, Salernitana, late in the January transfer window.
But, while we are here now, if you asked Browney the same thing, he would probably say he wants to just get the games out of the way - then sit down. So, he is our player until told otherwise and there's no news really.' When asked if there is a final offer on the table, or if the two parties are still in back-and-forth talks over a new deal, Lowe said: 'It doesn't work like that.
