Al menos 110 personas han fallecido a causa de los incendios en Hawái, confirmó este miércoles en una rueda de prensa el gobernador del estado, Josh Green.
Green explicó además que los equipos de rescate han logrado peinar cerca de un 38 % de la zona más afectada, en la isla de Maui.4
En una rueda de prensa telefónica celebrada el martes, el director de la Oficina de Respuesta de la Administración para la Preparación y la Respuesta Estratégicas , Jonathan Greene, detalló que el Gobierno estadounidense ha enviado un equipo forense a Hawái para ayudar en la identificación de las víctimas.
El medio estadounidense NBC se hizo eco este miércoles una demanda presentada contra la principal empresa de servicios del archipiélago, acusándola de negligencia por no apagar el sistema eléctrico antes de los fuertes vientos que azotaron las islas la semana pasada.
