AKRON, Ohio — The owner of a store in the West Akron neighborhood opened fire on a robber after the suspect held the owner at gunpoint, police say. The owner of the unspecified store on the 900 block of Delia Avenue tells police the male suspect entered at about 12:30 p.m. Friday and jumped over the counter. The suspect fired off one shot, then grabbed money from the cash register while pointing his gun at the owner.
As the suspect ran from the store, the owner grabbed his own firearm and chased after the man, firing at him, police say. There were no reports of injuries and no arrests have been made.
