Latest Nottingham Forest news as Steve Cooper's Reds prepare for Premier League clash with Aston Villa
Defender Ola Aina is confident Nottingham Forest can turn a corner as they aim to end their winless run.
Head coach Steve Cooper has repeatedly stressed it will take time for his new-look team to gel following another squad overhaul in the summer. Aina made his first start since recovering from injury at Anfield, having come off the bench against Luton Town a week earlier. He had made a fine start to life at the City Ground since joining as a free agent in the summer, until a muscle problem sidelined him for a month. The visitors’ cause was not helped by a lack of attacking options. They were forced to field a starting XI which did not include a recognised striker due to Chris Wood suffering a hamstring injury a few days before the match. Taiwo Awoniyi was only fit enough for a spot among the substitutes as he made his return from a groin problem, while Divock Origi and Callum Hudson-Odoi are both out of action.
