A sinister new cosplay imagines a dark Star Wars timeline, one where Ahsoka Tano wields an Inquisitor's lightsaber as an agent of the dark side.

A sinister new Star Wars cosplay features Ahsoka wielding an Inquisitor's lightsaber as an agent of the dark side. Having survived the fall of the Jedi Order and Republic, the former apprentice to Anakin Skywalker was active during the Empire's reign, working to unite cells of resistance to form the future Rebel Alliance. However, this new cosplay suggests an alternate timeline where Ahsoka Tano's path was far darker.

Shared on Instagram by Ahsoka cosplayer @moraicosplay, Ahsoka Tano is dressed as a member of the Empire's Inquisitorious. Wearing black armor and wielding a red-bladed lightsaber with the Inquisitor's traditional circular hilt, the makeup completes the sinister look for this evil version of Ahsoka. Her fiery orange eyes are surrounded by a black corruption, not unlike the Mortis arc in The Clone Wars where the dark side briefly influenced both Anakin and Ahsoka.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT This new cosplay is genuinely one of the darkest and most disturbing versions of Ahsoka Tano ever. Perhaps in this timeline, Ahsoka joined Anakin Skywalker despite his corruption as Darth Vader.

The Imperial Remnant and its leader Grand Admiral Thrawn will pose large threats in the Ahsoka series. However, perhaps this Inquisitor will be featured in a flashback during the Empire's reign instead, highlighting an unknown chapter from Ahsoka's past. After all, the assumption has long been that all the Jedi-hunting Inquisitors faded from the Empire's service ahead of A New Hope and the original trilogy of films.

Either way, the concept of Ahsoka becoming an Imperial Inquisitor is equally intriguing as it is disturbing. This new Star Wars cosplay provides a dynamic look at what such a dark timeline could look like in an alternate galaxy far, far away. Ahsoka will begin steaming August 23rd on Disney+.
