Star Wars Rebels cameo revealed.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Ahsoka episode 4 featured a powerful blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Star Wars Rebels cameo. Ahsoka essentially acts as a sequel to the show Rebels, bringing many of its animated characters to live-action for the first time. The Mandalorian-turned-Jedi Padawan Sabine Wren, New Republic General Hera Syndulla, her son Jacen Syndulla, and the missing Jedi Ezra Bridger are just a few of the Rebels characters prominently featured in Ahsoka.
In Star Wars Rebels season 4, Kanan sacrificed himself to save his friends from an Imperial fuel tank explosion. As such, it’s no surprise that he hasn’t been featured in Ahsoka, but the show has, so far, failed to even mention his name in passing. Sabine’s experiences in Ahsoka have paralleled many of Kanan’s most impactful moments of growth from Rebels, but he was important to more people than just Sabine. Hera Syndulla was the love of his life, and Jacen is his son.
Hera's Made Sure Jacen Knows About His Dad Above all, the photograph of Kanan in the cockpit means that Hera has made sure to tell Jacen all about his dad; how much he meant to her, to their entire Ghost crew family, and to the galaxy at large. Kanan was undoubtedly a hero, and his legacy lives on not only in his Padawan Ezra Bridger, but in his son Jacen, as well.
Kanan’s name going unmentioned in Ahsoka so far feels strangely out of place. Perhaps there’s a fear that mentioning a character so intrinsic to Star Wars Rebels who logically cannot appear in Ahsoka will alienate those audiences who never watched the animated show, but it’s a disservice to his character, and to the characters that loved and knew him.
