After CA watchdog finds no violation, civil grand jury says Alameda County prosecutors violated policies during 2018 election
OAKLAND — A month after an elections watchdog found no violation of the state’s political reform act, the Alameda County grand jury has concluded that several District Attorney employees, including prosecutors, violated local policies by using work emails to support of their boss in the 2018 election.
The grand jury report comes just one month after the California Fair Political Practices Commission investigated a complaint for the same conduct and found it did not violate the Political Reform Act. The FPPC didn’t issue a public report on the matter; its website simply states there was “no violation,” without elaboration.
