A section of southbound I-17 in north Phoenix will be closed this weekend to make way for a pavement improvement project.
Part of Interstate 17 in north Phoenix will be closed to motorists during the weekend of Oct. 14, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
ADOT said the southbound ramps to Loop 101 from I-17 will be closed; however, the southbound ramps to I-17 from Loop 101 will remain open. Drivers exiting on Pinnacle Peak Road will be directed to enter eastbound Loop 101 from southbound 19th or 35th avenues, ADOT said. The closure affects the area between U.S. 60 and State Route 143 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, ADOT said. Eastbound I-10 also will be narrowed to two lanes between 48th Street and Broadway Road.Westbound I-10 ramps from westbound U.S. 60.Westbound U.S. 60 on-ramps at McClintock Drive, Rural Road and Mill Avenue.
