Deteriorated film pyrotechnics have been revealed as the cause of a bomb squad response near Watford.
Just after 1pm yesterday , a member of the public clearing a house in Abbots Langley found something concerning in the shed, Herts Police have confirmed.
“Very old” film pyrotechnic devices had been left there to deteriorate past their safety margins, meaning police had to put a cordon in place near Langleybury Lane.Watford to London commuters to face smaller trains with less seats A large emergency services presence could be seen while the force’s officers assisted explosive ordinance disposal experts as they carried out a “controlled explosion”.
The devices were safely destroyed with no damage to the property and there is not thought to be any further threat to the public related to them.
