Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly met with producers to discuss playing the next James Bond in what is being described as a productive meeting.
A new report confirms recent rumors that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is in the running for the role of James Bond. After 2021 saw Daniel Craig's departure from the role of Bond after five films, discussions surrounding who will be the next actor to take on this highly coveted role have been rife with rumor and speculation.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now its been confirmed that these rumors do, in fact, have some truth to them as Taylor-Johnson has reportedly met with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli to discuss the role. Per Puck News, Taylor-Johnson's meeting with Broccoli went very well, according to their sources. However, little else was confirmed with regard to who else may be in the running, nor what the next steps would be for Taylor-Johnson to secure the casting.
When it comes to just what this new generation of Bond will bring to audiences, details remain sparse, as it's likely that casting the actor is the first step in establishing what's next for 007. However, Broccoli previously revealed that they're looking to make Bond 26 a "reinvention of Bond," a plan that is likely to be the ultimate deciding factor in which actor nabs the role.
Confirmation that Taylor-Johnson is in the running for Bond is sure to excite audiences who are eager to see the beloved character return to screens. Given his previous acting credits, it's fair to say that Taylor-Johnson has undoubtedly established that he has the acting chops to take on a role of such caliber, and at just 32 years old the actor is perfectly within the "thirty-something" requirement that the Bond producers have laid out.
