Two lorries were involved in the crash
Motorists face lengthy delays on a major Lincolnshire road following a serious crash involving two HGVs. The incident took place on the A1 at Colsterworth and has led to a road closure in both directions from Harlaxton to Stamford.
Pictures from the scene show a large lorry on its side across the central reservation and blocking both sides of the road. Another HGV can been seen in a ditch on the side of the carriageway. At the time of writing, it is not yet known if anyone was injured as a result of the crash. A spokesperson for National Highways said that the A1 is "expected to remain closed for several hours whilst the vehicles are recovered". Emergency services remain at the scene of the incident which was first reported just before 7am on Monday, March 18. Lincolnshire Police has been contacted for more information.A diversion route is in place for motorists affected by the crash.
