It's easy to see why Kemal Coskuncay is considered one of the best in the country
Kemal Coskuncay, originally from Turkey but now living in Speke, is not just a gifted chef, he's been crowned one of the best in the country. Kemal got through to the finals of the British Kebab's Chef of the Year last week, where he was hoping to be named the winner for the second year running.
I headed down to Casa Rima on a Friday night, hopping off the train at Halewood station in the cold and miserable weather. Thankfully Google Maps informed me the restaurant was only a ten-minute walk away. I started with garlic mushrooms and was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. In my head, I had pictured battered mushrooms, but this wasn’t the case. The pan-fried dish came dripping in a creamy mustard sauce - one I can still smell now if I try hard enough.
