Some Of The X-Men's Best Stories Feature Alternate Timelines In the early 2010s, writer Brian Michael Bendis, who had helped turn the Avengers into one of Marvel’s biggest franchises, turned his attention towards the X-Men. Bendis brought the five founding members of the team – Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Beast and Angel – to the present day, where they fought alongside contemporary Marvel heroes, as well as the then-current X-roster.
