Lunch time is traditionally spent at home eating ossechi which is a kind of extravagant mix of many different dishes which each symbolize something.✅And either on New Years Eve or New Years Day families go to a shrine to pray for a good yearHere in Sydney Australia, we’re one of the first cities to bring in the new year. The government usually puts on a couple of big fireworks displays over the harbour - one at 9:00pm , and one at midnight.
Some may point out that this is a less spiritual way to bring in the new year than, say, Japan.
