FRANKFURT, Germany : World Cup winner and former Germany coach Rudi Voeller, who took over as national team director on Friday, pledged to help win back the fans after disappointing results in recent years.
He has come out of retirement to take his current post at a difficult time following the departure of Oliver Bierhoff after Germany's first-round World Cup exit in Qatar in December. "It is a bit a of a deja vu for me but not really the same. Formerly as a coach and now as national team director," Voeller told a news conference.
