New Liverpool coach John Heitinga has been praised by West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, who has been linked with a move to Anfield . The Reds confirmed on Wednesday that Heitinga has joined Arne Slot 's backroom staff as an assistant coach. Heitinga is already familiar with Merseyside, having spent four-and-a-half years as a player across Stanley Park at Everton . Now the 40-year-old has stepped into coaching and will be part of Slot's backroom staff for the upcoming Premier League season.
Kudus has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool , with suggestions of an £85 million price tag, although the speculation surrounding his future at West Ham has gone quiet in recent weeks. Kudus has now spoken about his time working alongside Heitinga and has handed out plenty of praise for Liverpool's new assistant coach. “I felt very good under Heitinga. He is the best trainer I have had at Ajax,” Kudus told Voetbal Primeur .
