A Preston North End loan favourite will see his time in England come to an end this summer following a transfer agreement.
Former Preston North End loan star Alvaro Fernandez is poised to complete a permanent move to Benfica, according to a report. Portuguese outlet Record say that Benfica will be triggering the €6m release clause in Fernandez's loan agreement. The 21-year-old joined them for the second half of the season after playing for Grenada for the first part and now his time in England looks to be coming to an end.
Joao Manuel Pinto, a one-time international for Portugal, who played for Benfica from 2001 to 2003 is a big fan of Fernandez.
