An expert has issued a warning as the colder weather has arrived
Many people across the UK will have turned their central heating on for the first time over the past week as typically autumnal conditions finally arrived. However, an expert has urged consumers to remain vigilant as energy bills remain sky high amid the cost-of-living crisis.
Andy Kerr, founder of BOXT, said: "As we head into the colder winter months, there are still concerns that consumer energy bill prices will remain concerningly high this winter.” Analysts are predicting the Ofgem price cap will go up again when it is next updated in January, with BOXT forecasting average bills will rise to £1,898 a year. Mr Kerr said: “Whilst there are steps consumers can take to monitor their consumption, the global cost of energy is beyond their control.
