In 2012, Henry was off to his best start ever. He rushed for 336 yards in an opening-week loss to Gainesville, stormed for 242 while playing only a portion of a 44-0 rout against Potter's House Christian and broke 300 again, tallying 303 in all, during a five-touchdown, 42-14 win over Clermont South Lake.
Jackson, 2-1 at the time, had no defense for Henry's bulldozing rushes. But the Tigers were far from helpless opponents. Jackson launched its own offensive threat in sophomore quarterback Tristan Payton, a dynamic that kept the score reasonably close all evening and forced Yulee to keep using their star in order to snuff out any comeback hopes.
Only the state mark of 501 yards, set by Shawn Smith of Tampa Bay Tech in 1985 against Gibsonton East Bay, remained in front of Henry.
