TROY TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Five family members, including three children, were rescued Sunday from the East Branch of the Cuyahoga River in Geauga County after their boats overturned, authorities say.
The Troy Fire Department was called to Eldon Russell Park on Rapids Road at about 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports that multiple people were in the water and “in distress.” Fire departments from Auburn, Burton, Middlefield, Newbury, Munson, Mantua-Shalersville and Parkman were called to bring in additional rescue boats.
