The Cowboys are about ready to host the New England Patriots. Here are five final thoughts, clearing out the notebook before Sunday’s kickoff at 3:25 p.m.

He caught a 35-yard score to seal the game.The Patriots are more willing than most NFL front offices to invest roster spots on core special teamers. These are players who contribute little to nowhere else but on special teams. Wide receiver Matthew Slater is the best example, the 10-time Pro Bowler having been in New England since 2008.
The Patriots’ investment on special teams was rewarded in a 2019 game against the Cowboys. They met in cold, windy weather in Foxborough, Mass. Slater blocked a first-quarter punt to set up the game’s only touchdown in a Dallas loss.Thirty-seven running backs have totaled at least 25 carries this NFL season.Of them, the Patriots’ Rhamondre Stevenson ranks 37th with his 1.8-yard average after contact per carry, according to Pro Football Focus.
