SANTA CLARA — Frankie Austin Brendel someday will be old enough to read this story, about the wild day she was born.
“She was the real MVP of the day, for sure,” Jake said at his locker Tuesday before the 49ers’ first practice ahead of their wild-card playoff game SaturdayFrankie Brendel’s birthday included: a missed wake-up call, a 15-minute drive, an air mattress, and plenty of pushing, from both her mom at El Camino Hospital in Los Gatos and her dad on a football field in Santa Clara.At 7:41 a.m., Frankie arrived — at 9 pounds, 6 ounces, and 21 inches long. At 1:25 p.m.
Brendel beamed like a justifiably proud father while recounting that day’s events. Here is how it unfolded through his eyes, in an exclusive question-and-answer session with the Bay Area News Group:“Nobody, really. We have some Franklins in our lineage. But no one, really.
