From Brookside to The Batman

Local children and their friends gather on Elswick Street, Dingle, to see the cast and crew of the BBC hit comedy Bread filming for the next series. July 10, 1988It's no secret that Liverpool has been a popular hotspot for filming through the decades.

Featuring in numerous award-winning productions, film crews have long headed to the city to shoot their latest projects, featuring some of our historic streets, iconic buildings and known tourist attractions. And some of us have been lucky enough to see some of the film and TV sets, as well asIn the last decade alone, Liverpool welcomed stars such as Meryl Streep, Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law to the city - and we were also home to a number of hit shows set here, from Bread to Brookside.

The scene in the Liverpool boardroom which had been converted in to a television studio during the colour "Match Of The Day" programme filmed on Saturday.
