A 43-year-old man was pulled from the water at Diversey Harbor early Wednesday morning and later died after being taken to the hospital, according to the Chicago Police Department.Both the Chicago Fire Department and the police department’s Marine Unit responded to the scene shortly after 5 a.m.
The man was with a group of people at the harbor when he went into the water and failed to resurface. Spokespeople for both the fire and police departments were unable to say whether a life ring was present at the site, or whether it had been used.
