22-year-old Brazilian international Vinicius Junior was subjected to racial abuse once again during a Spanish league match, sparking an international outcry
Police arrested four people suspected of hanging an effigy of football star Vinicius Junior off a highway bridge in Madrid in January, hours after Spanish prosecutors opened an investigation into racist abuse hurled at the Real Madrid forward.
Three of the men are members of an ultra fan group of a Madrid football club, the statement added without identifying the club. Sunday's La Liga game was held up for several minutes, and the referee wrote in his post-match report that shouts of racist abuse had been directed at Vinicius.
