The new Doctor Who spinoff, Tales of the TARDIS, finally provides an upgraded outfit for Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor 39 years after his debut.

Since 1963, the Gallifreyan Time Lord called the Doctor has gone on thrilling adventures across time and space, amassing a large group of fans called Whovians.
The Sixth Doctor's new costume may look vastly different in Tales of the TARDIS, but every part of his new attire calls back to the previous costume. His suit is the color of his old jacket's pink lapel, toning the saturation down only slightly. While it isn't patchwork or heavily patterned, this color still sets him apart from the other doctors who dress in less bright clothing.
Looking at the less obvious details of the Sixth Doctor's new outfit, he wears accessories that tie into both his version of the Doctor and his previous regenerations. The Sixth Doctor wears an ascot that is barely visible except in a few close-ups. The white and black polka dot pattern is a callback to his previous polka dot ascots that were either green or red, depending on the season.
