3 displaced, one hospitalized following two-alarm fire in Spring Valley home [Breaking]
One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after a fire ignited in a two-story home in Spring Valley Saturday night, fire officials said.
The two-alarm fire started around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night on Javelin Way off Jaeger Road, and was put out within 30 minutes, San Miguel Fire Battalion Chief Nick Nava said. Sheriff’s deputies were the first to arrive on the scene of the home, which was fully engulfed in flames. Due to the size of the fire and the structure, the call was elevated to a second alarm, Nava said.Nava said the fire resulted in significant damage throughout the entire house. Three people were displaced by the fire, Nava said.
In addition to San Miguel Fire, Nava said other firefighters assisting were from Heartland Fire, San Diego Fire-Rescue, the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District and Chula Vista Fire. Investigators with the sheriff’s bomb-arson unit will investigate to try to determine the cause of the fire, Nava said.
