A 3-alarm fire in a single-story building containing multiple businesses in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood early Tuesday morning has caused an estimated $1 million in damage.
Officials say firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the building on Blue Hill Avenue and Woodrow Street just before 5 a.m. The fire happened in a section of the building that contained a large industrial laundry room with many washers and dryers.As of 7 a.m., Blue Hill Avenue was shut down between Morton Street and Johnston Road.
